Smart Creates Travelling Exhibition To Explore Future City Mobility

By Dave Pinter on June 4, 2010

Automaker Smart recently launched the tour of the “Smart Urban Stage” which is part idea forum, part competition venue, and part brand pavilion. The exhibit will travel to six European cities including Berlin, Rome, Zurich, Paris, Madrid and London. The goal of the exhibit is to present local projects from the fields of society, design, architecture, media, science and mobility which explore future-oriented and sustainable ideas relating to the future of urban life. At each of the six stops, winners will be selected from among the projects presented to later compete in an international final to select an overall winner for best idea.

Smart is using the exhibition as a platform give a personal introduction to electric vehicle ownership. The exhibition includes an area where visitors can try out operating a vehicle charger and take a test drive of the Smart Fortwo EV which will be in dealerships in 2012.

The Smart Urban Stage is currently in Berlin till June 13th. We’re hoping Smart has plans to bring the tour to the US sometime in the near future. For now, Cartype has some posted great photos of the Berlin stop.
