The Advertising & Creative Process, Illustrated

By Paloma M. Vazquez on September 2, 2010

A new book by Deborah Morrison, Phd and W. Glenn Griffin, Phd offers an illustrated perspective on the creative process employed by thought leaders like psychologist Mihaly CsikszentmihalyiSeth Godin and Russell Davies, as well as by ad agencies including including TBWA\CHIAT\DAY, Wieden+Kennedy, McGarryBowen, Ogilvy & Mather, and Carmichael Lynch, among others. The book promises to answer the question ‘how are big ideas born?’ by tapping into how leading planners, psychologists, creative directors and other creative thought-leaders visualize their own search for a great idea. Illustrations will therefore be included.

Seeing how some of the most creative minds in advertising illustrate their individual processes for idea generation could be interesting – including determining if there are any areas of commonality. We wonder how honest participants were in revealing their trade secrets?
