How can digitization immortalize transient street art?

Graffiti is an ephemeral medium, and for the most part, this is one of the appeals of tagging — the exhilaration of an intervention into the urban landscape that will ultimately be taken down. But as everything moves to being digitized, so too can ephemeral public displays of art.

The Graffiti Analysis Tool utilizes motion capture technology via a small LED + camera modification to allow for works of street to be immortalized digitally. In addition, this offers a new option for conservation of such works of art.
