Rose’s storytelling collaboration with Incase celebrates the device’s creative possibilities.
Incase has collaborated with director and curator Aaron Rose to celebrate the creative possibilities of the iPhone 4 – particularly its built-in HD camera. The brand and director tell the story via three original short films and photo essays captured by Rose using the iPhone 4, titled ‘Kreuzberg‘.
According to Rose, the film is a tribute to Brian Eno and David Bowie, both of whom recorded in Kreuzberg (Berlin) in the 1970s. Since the 1980s, the historically Turkish neighborhood of Kreuzberg has also been home to a population of artists, musicians and anarchists. Correspondingly, ‘Kreuzberg”s main characters are Fiona Geuess, an art historian who reads excerpts from Boris Groys’ essay on ‘light luggage’, and Nathan Harrington, a musician who also developed the film’s original score.
The three-part film and photo essay series will showcase how the iPhone 4 can facilitate creation of inspired and engaging video storytelling. Following Kreuzberg, two additional films and photo essays will be released on November 2nd and November 30th.
