Fans of Film, an online database and social network for independent filmmakers, has had a strong online presence for the two years that it has been active. Founded in New Mexico, they have hosted the works of filmmakers from all across the country hoping to provide them with opportunities to market and distribute their films directly to fans.

Taking the next step in their support of the swiftly evolving independent film movement, they have begun an IndieGoGo campaign for a new Fans of Film Web Show. As they highlight in their mission statement,

“The Fans Of Film Show will prove to be different than any other film show as we highlight and witness together the largest transfer of media in the history of media distribution, as every filmmaker, film studio’s and major television network around the world take their content to the web”

There is an understanding by the group that since the model for distribution has begun to change so drastically in the last few years there is a need to keep both filmmakers and the public educated on what is happening in the digital filmmaking revolution.

Recognizing the importance of social tools in indie film today it will provide coverage of not only films and reviews, but also successful crowd sourcing campaigns via Kickstarter & IndieGoGo and information from major influencers on Twitter.

Among those featured on the show will be filmmaker and founder of Fans of Film, Michael Palombo (@MichaelPalombo) who will provide news and reviews.
