Does Ford’s choice of the CES venue further blur the boundary between car and gadget?
The Consumer Electronics Show and the North American International Auto Show take place at nearly identical times in Las Vegas and Detroit respectively. For CES this year, Ford CEO Alan Mulally will deliver the keynote address. It also appears they will mark the occasion by unveiling the new plug-in electric Ford Focus. It is an interesting choice of venue to debut the car.
Ford have already posted some teaser images of the vehicle on their Facebook page. While mostly showing the exterior charging door, the light ring surrounding it is a clever idea. The ring’s illumination actually displays the available charge the Focus has stored in its battery. So you don’t even need to get in the car to tell the charge state of the vehicle.
