Ongo Offers A Paid Curated News Service
Ongo is a new online, personal news service that curates top headlines and stories from some of the largest news organizations such as the Washington Post, New York Times and Associated Press. Subscribers will need to pay $6.99 a month for hand-picked stories from a specific list of publications, with every additional news site costing 99¢. Besides offering news from several sources, Ongo comes in a special, print-like format that makes it easier to read on a computer and mobile devices, unlike its future competitor “The Daily” which is expected to be only accessible on an iPad.
While this type of aggregation can be done quite easily by the average reader, we wonder if this type of service might actually catch on, as media consumers struggle with increasing amounts of information on a daily basis.
