Beautifully Designed London Restaurant Botanically-Inspired

By Dave Pinter on February 4, 2011

Aiming to provide a memorable escape away from the city center rush in London is a new restaurant called The Folly. The striking interior design mixes flower and plant references with contemporary design. The theme is successfully executed down to the smallest detail. Seating ranges from modern design classics to to communal tables inspired by picnic benches. Clever re-purposing transforms clay flowerpots into lighting. Botanical ‘graffiti’ covers the walls of the dining area.

Another unique feature of the venue is the satellite services offered. Adjacent to the entrance is a stand where fresh cut flowers can be purchased. The Folly also contains a deli offering ingredients, fresh bread and prepared items. A Pop-up shop will feature a rotating offering of seasonal merchandise and services such as a champagne bar or a make-up boutique.

Owners Drake & Morgan marked the opening of The Folly with a donation to ProAves, a conservation charity, by funding the purchase of an area of Colombian rain forest. The purchase effectively offsets The Folly’s carbon footprint.
