Instawar is one of the latest services developers are creating using the Instagram open API, while Printstagram makes digital photos physical.
Instawar gives us another example of what developers can do with the Instagram Open API. Instawar allows users to browse random Instagram photos in pairs, voting for the better of the two photos as they go. Ultimately, the site aims to ‘crown’ the best photographers on the service. Photographers accrue points as they win, which can be redeemed towards free prints from Printstagr.am.
Printstagr.am, on the other hand, provides printing services for your Instagram photos. From an ‘instagrid’ poster of your mobile masterpieces to stickers, Printstagr.am allows your seemingly fleeting, digital shots to take tactile form and find a home on your walls.
We’re encouraged to see developers taking advantage of Instagram’s Open API – does the evolution and future of Instagram also depend on the the innovation of developers?
