The Multiplayer Travel Game For London Commuters [Video]

By Emma Hutchings on April 6, 2011

Chromaroma is an online multiplayer game that uses your journey data (obtained whenever you swipe an Oyster card to travel by bus, train or hired bike) and awards points based on how many locations you visit around London, and how often you travel.

The developers, Mudlark, describe it as:

“a type of location-based top-trumps. You collect places, identities, modes of transport and passengers as you travel around the city; discover and investigate mysteries attached to different locations and build alliances with fellow passengers that share your journeys. It’s a game you can play on your own, or part of a team.”

Every time you swipe your card, you unlock something new in the game. The creators hope that it inspires people to try new modes of transport and explore new areas of the city they haven’t visited before.
