PSFK has been following the disappearance of artist and political activist Ai Weiwei since he was arrested by Chinese authorities on April 3rd.  A number of demonstrations have been held at Chinese consulates worldwide, protesting the detaining of the Chinese artist and his wife and the alleged charges of ‘tax evasion, bigamy and spreading pornography.’

In Manhattan, security for the People’s Republic of China Consulate kept protesters at a distance from the actual building, confining the group to fenced-off area across the street. On Friday, Cuban artist Geandy Pavon took a creative approach to the tight-security around the building – projecting his Nemesis-Ai Weiwei: The Elusiveness of Being film featuring the detained Chinese artist directly onto the consulate wall.
