Renault ‘Electric Life’ Ad Compares Gadgets With An EV Car

By Dave Pinter on May 27, 2011

Renault have debuted a new ad for their Z.E. line of electric vehicles. The spot makes the case that consumers depend on electricity to power nearly every convenience today and that using petrol seems antiquated. The ad also, maybe unintentionally creates a comparison between consumer gadgets and cars. Petrol powered cars haven’t had to rely on being marketed through a convenience story for decades. With long recharging times and range anxiety of current electric car models still a concern with consumers, it is interesting to see Renault create a connection with the small electronics we use and depend on every day.
