New York Magazine joins forces with HowAboutWe, giving old-school personal ads a digital facelift.
Taking advantage of its culturally savvy, locally curious demographic, New York Magazine recently extended its reach to the realm of online dating. By launching the venture in conjunction with the hot young startup, HowAboutWe, the media company hopes that the move will be a natural extension of their brand’s reputation for top quality restaurant reviews, critiques and local to-do lists. HowAboutWe launched last year as a New York-specific dating site, and it has quickly gained momentum and popularity, even launching an app in April. While most major dating websites emphasize user profiles and photos, HowAboutWe lets users decide who they’re interested in based on actual suggested date ideas.
