Receipt Racer Takes Retail Waste And Makes It Fun

A DIY tech mash-up creates an awesome game that is part gaming console, part recycled machine.

Interaction designers Joshua Noble and creative designer ‘undef’ have put together a receipt printer comprised of a PlayStation game pad, and a light beamer to create a DIY racer game aptly named the “Receipt Racer.” The receipt printer prints a randomly generated racetrack, while the user guides a “racer” projected by the lightbeam across the track, avoiding track walls and occasional obstacles.
