PSFK has teamed up with the General Assembly and Voyurl to hold a panel discussion to ask what a better web might look like if consumers controlled their own data. Internet users are no longer the helplessly inundated victims of online marketing, with the opportunity to barter deals across multiple flight carriers, exchange social data from Groupon, and maintain detailed profiles for better content experiences. More than ever, every person online has the potential to become a social entrepreneur by trading their own online capital for virtual perks. As people learn to leverage their social capital, how will the web evolve with consumers in the driver seats of their own personal data online?

Panel participants will include a mixture of journalists and industry experts in the digital space. The discussion will be curated by PSFK’s Head of Consulting, Scott Lachut at NYC’s General assembly, Thursday June 9th, 7-9pm. Registration details for the panel can be found here.
