Carmageddon: Running On Empty [Video]

By Don Michael Acelar De Leon on July 21, 2011

The recent closure of a portion of Interstate 405 in Los Angeles, otherwise known as “Carmageddon,” has triggered quite a number of initiatives to market alternative travelling options, such as $4 airplane fares and quick bike rides from Bob Hope to Long Beach. Interestingly, ‘Carmageddon’ also created a rare opportunity for artistic expression and articulation of varying visual perspectives. In this video, videographer Ross Ching captures the very essence of a car-less metropolis and the peace that appears to come with it.
