Leo Babauta Wants You To Think Simple

By Emma Hutchings on July 8, 2011

Leo Babauta’s site mnmlist is all about the importance of minimalism in today’s society. His post on ideas asks the interesting question of whether there is any use in paring down thinking, in the same way people pare down possessions and certain things that they do. He lists the areas in which he has simplified his ideas, resulting in greater inspiration and enjoyment; exercise, diet, writing, work, finances, social life, etc.

I’ve dropped ideas about schedules, about programs, about loads and goals. I’m left with the simplest of ideas.

When we start out with something, we usually will try everything. But as we learn, we can pare down ideas that we find out don’t matter. We’re left with the essentials.
