What if you could be the contestant on a game show via your social network? Your Are TV aims to give you that opportunity through its new webcam game show that encourages participation among a player’s network of Facebook friends. To play, you recruit friends either through Facebook and Twitter. With each friend you recruit your star power gauge fills up increasing the likelihood that you will be chosen to play. Contestants and friends of the contestant can freely trade each other’s star power to help them at a better chance of playing or winning. Friends follow along in a chatroom next to the video of the actual game show.

Another feature not only encourages participation with friends but also with strangers as well. With Star Roulette players can become fans of random people on Facebook, encouraging them to participate in the game and potentially develop more connections.

The game itself is called Box or No Box, a not-so-subtle re-do of Deal or No Deal, but through a webcam, with a single female host and a banker. The host asks the contestant which boxes he would like to open and as the game proceeds the Banker offers increasingly more enticing offers as the odds of getting the bigger prize decrease.
