Interactive Glass Panels Will Change The Way We Live [video]

Foldable 3D TVs will allow users to intuitively play and move around objects on the screen.

Forget holographic TV; the next big thing when it comes to displays will be interactive screens and foldable 3D TVs. Investment Director of Applied Materials, Eileen Tanghai, predicts that the next wave of investment in the display industry will likely be interactive touchscreens and flexible TVs. Flat, interactive glass touchscreens will allow users to intuitively play and move around objects on the screen. Similar to what can be done on a smartphone, but on a much larger scale and with transparent screens.

As with all technological advancements, the initial production of these screens will be costly and would only be adopted for commercial purposes, such as sprucing up retail space. However, as prices are driven down by high demands, we might see these technologies being used in our every day lives. The video below made by Corning Incorporated demonstrates how interactive glass panels can change the way we live, work and play.
