To promote their new dollar drink days, McDonalds put together an ice block sculpture filled with 4,000 Canadian dollar coins. The coins were arranged into the shape of McDonald’s arch and people were invited to chip away at the ice, or wait for it to melt, so they could each take a coin. The sculpture, which was left in the center of Alberta, only lasted 5 hours before it was completely chipped away by passers-by trying to get at the coins embedded in the ice.
