The new company hopes to bring luxury travel to a wider number of people.
Last weekend, marketing entrepreneur Clive Jackson launched a new community called Victor, which allows its members to offer and book seats on private jets. He hopes the business will attract those who hadn’t considered the advantages of flying privately before now. The website states:
He identified the potential for an online trading platform which would bring together people interested in buying seats on a private jet with the network of private jet operators across Europe and the significantly under-utilised jet capacity that exists in the aviation industry.
People can book spare seats on private flights chartered by other travellers and they can either pay a fixed price for a seat, which gets lower as the other available seats are filled, or place a bid on a seat and see if the price is accepted.
According to the Telegraph, Mr. Jackson has arranged a business relationship resulting in the use of 124 private jets across Europe, and the community has attracted 246 members since its beta testing in February.
