Apple Store employees offering assistance in-store for future appointments and on-the-spot advice. BMW car servicing using an iPad to help manage your stay at the dealership.

How could this trend be leveraged by retailers?

High-end retailers could give a tablet to customers to go around to buy furniture, design kitchens to their own specifications.

How could this trend be leveraged by product manufacturers?

QR codes on all products sold should provide not just product specs but product reviews and information on installation and delivery.

How could this trend be leveraged by retailers? 

Retailers could offer the first 100 hoppers a better deal directly without paying a margin to third party service providers like Groupon.
