The event entitled, ‘Wood and Woad’ launched in September at the Few and Far Gallery on Brompton Road, London. Wood and Woad features the 2011 fall collection from various local designers.  Going green is the theme of the exhibit, in which top designers have used native materials from Britain to create one-of-a-kind pieces. The materials used in the designers’ inspirations include wood, banana fiber, recycled paper, scrap metal, and used auto parts. Among the crowd favorites were warm lighting fixtures, comfortable chairs, as well as unique plant holders. Featured were the works of designers Ingo Maurer, Pinch, Jane Bevan, and many more were viewed by the public during the one-day event.
