The American Time Use Survey collates their data to indicate what an average American does on a day-to-day basis.
A simple infographic that shows how Americans spend the day. The data is collated from the American Time Use Survey (ATUS), which interviewed thousands of participants aged 15 and older between 2005 and 2009. The survey and asked the participants to keep track of their daily activities, including eating, sleeping, working etc. The infographic shows that most Americans spend their day sleeping, eating/drinking, working, watching TV and doing housework. Activities like sports and recreation, socialising and family care are often kept to a minimum.
