Recently Sold John Lennon Artwork Allegedly Altered by Yoko Ono

By Anna Brillon on October 18, 2011

The widow of the late Beatles member has been selling prints and drawings to benefit her New York charity, Citymeals-on-Wheels. While some of the art pieces were sold for thousands of dollars, there had been complaints from purchasers regarding the originality of the artwork. Reports say that Yoko Ono has been accused of tampering with the artwork by coloring them and altering some of the images herself, and selling them as originals. In reference to a 2010 issue which was the first time the widow was accused of the allegation, Ono explains that her late husband “probably would not have minded” if she added some color to the drawings.
