60-Foot Video Wall Challenges You To Keep Pace With Top Marathon Runner [Video]

Sports apparel manufacturer Asics partnered with CBS Outdoor and creative agency Vitro to launch the ‘Marathon Experience’ ad campaign inside New York City’s Columbus Circle subway station. The interactive installation was put up over the ING New York City Marathon weekend and the 60-foot video screens featuring displays, Asics products and inspirational messages will remain in place until November 28th.

Its ‘Run with Ryan’ video simulation lets the public attempt to keep pace with Asics athlete and top US marathon runner Ryan Hall as he runs the length of the wall in real-time. A countdown gives people the chance to get in position before running alongside the video screen and seeing how they compare. Not many have managed to match Ryan’s 6’10″ stride length and 4:46 mile pace for 60 feet, and they are then told that he runs this fast for 26.2 miles.
