Its online network 'Patch' offers free parking in downtown Montclair, New Jersey.

The Montclair, New Jersey Patch site (part of AOL’s network of hyperlocal websites in 18 US states) hosted a ‘Park on Patch’ event last week. Parking meters along two roads in the downtown area were free for a day courtesy of Patch and staff from the site set up a table in the Clairidge Theater for people to stop by and pick up free Patch pens, magnets and balloons. They also requested food donations on behalf of the local Human Needs Food Pantry and handed out movie vouchers to the first 25 people who made a donation. Parking meters in the area were covered to advertise the free spaces and draw attention to the site:
