The world’s largest media and entertainment company enables visitors to interact and take photos from a 60-ft screen with their favorite Disney characters.
Using special state-of-the-art augmented reality technology, Disney enabled Times Square visitors to interact with some of their favorite Disney characters on a 60-ft screen. Participants wanting a Disney experience can stand opposite the big screen in a specially marked circle which is being filmed and broadcast in real time. Visitors are virtually joined by one or more of their favorite Disney characters, who interacted with the guests on-screen before posing for a picture. The display marks the start of Disney’s second “Let the Memories Begin” campaign, which also includes a special projection of Cinderella’s Castle in the middle of Times Square. Disney’s campaign integrates the technology of social networks as well by allowing visitors to share photos of their experience across multiple social platforms.
