A Sydney-based agency successfully uses an “under-utilized medium” to drive a new service’s unique selling proposition.
PSFK has previously showcased examples of noteworthy outdoor advertising campaigns that successfully capture the attention of viewers and potential customers through strong and clear concepts and compelling visuals. With the help of Sydney-based creative agency I.D.E.A.S and Jane Caro, Sydney’s Community First Credit Union transforms the otherwise boring and dreary subject of loans into an interesting visual with the “Flexible Bus,” an outdoor ‘bus wrap’ execution that features a distorted, or “flexed,” bus. Accompanied by the copy “Our fixed home loan is surprisingly flexible,” the visual aims to communicate the flexibility of Community First’s Fixed Rate Home Loan.
I.D.E.A.S, with post-production studio Electric Art, created the visual’s distorted look by manipulating and distorting the dimensions of an existing picture of a bus. Michael O’Reilly, head of marketing at Community First Credit Union, says:
We wanted to take a fresh approach to our creative and bring our innovative product offering to life in a more
entertaining way and that is exactly what the agency did.
Max Landrak, creative director, adds:
This is a surprisingly under-utilised medium. Most wraps look like posters on wheels. It’s a shame because when used well, a bus wrap can be a memorable part of any campaign.
