Mobile Payment App Adds Loyalty Rewards And Cash Payments

The credit card reader and mobile payment app Square has been updated this week to add a number of new features for merchants, including hardware integration with cash drawers and receipt printers, and the ability to reward loyal customers.

Version 2.2 of the iOS and Android app gives those with Square’s mobile wallet app Card Case the option of identifying regular users and customizing rewards. They can set them based on the number of visits or the amount they’ve spent, and once the customer reaches the target the discount will be applied to their purchase.

Square can also now connect wirelessly to cash drawers and receipt printers. Whereas before merchants were only able to give out email or text receipts, they can now hand out physical copies if customers request them. Other new features include a searchable sales history, the ability to refund or send receipts for past transactions, and customize tip percentage options.
