Global coffee brand hopes to boost product sales through interactive mobile barcodes.
Global coffee franchise Starbucks has teamed up with Scanbuy, a mobile barcode solutions company, aiming to improve its product sales via QR codes. These QR codes can be found in-store locations around the U.S. and also in popular print media and outdoor spaces to promote its upcoming line of Fall coffee products.
David Javitch, Vice President of Marketing at Scanbuy in New York commented:
Starbucks is using traditional media like pring and outdoor to drive downloads of their mobile app, and the QR Code is a great way for smartphone users to get it in one click.
When users scan these QR codes with their smartphones, they are redirected to a dedicated landing page that includes videos and information on the Starbucks Caffe Verona blend. Users can also browse through the Starbucks menu, shop online or check their Starbucks card balance.
