In our research for the Future Of Gaming report, our consulting team noticed a growing tendency towards games being used To Improve Everyday Personal Behavior. One example of this trend is Foodzy– an Amsterdam-based start-up that has created an online platform allowing players to earn rewards and compete with others around healthy eating habits, while gaining insight into how to lose weight and live better lives. Participants upload their food intake online or through the platform’s mobile application and receive badges to display on their public profiles and spur competition amongst friends. For example, participants who regularly eat vegetables, fruit or fish will accrue specific badges. The platform’s built-in social sharing features makes it easy for players to compare and contrast these eating habits with those of their family and friends.
