Beautiful Christmas Cards Sent For Free In Exchange For Responses To Survey

By Kristen Nozell on December 8, 2011

15,000 Christmas cards were handed out for free to travelers, along with free postage, in Heathrow Airport between the 2nd and 5th of December. In exchange for the free cards and free postage, recipients were asked to answer a brief survey about their holiday card-sending habits. The results of the survey are outlined in the Heathrow press release. A donation was made from each card to Macmillan Cancer Support, Heathrow’s charity of the year.

The cards, designed by British paper cut artist Rob Ryan, featured an intricate image of two people connecting from across the world with the words, ‘Days became hours until hours eventually became minutes and then finally it was merely seconds until all of the time that I had been away from you had dissolved and I was back safe with you again.’ Although the physical cards were only offered for a few days, an e-card of the same design is available on the Heathrow Holiday site.
