Buick’s In-Store AR App Invites Consumers To Interact With & Buy Its New Model

Buick is using an app powered by Aurasma to enable consumers to learn more about its 2012 LaBrosse model. The Buick Best Tech app will be featured at the Wired holiday pop-up shop in New York City until December 24th, where consumers can browse and buy gifts selected by Buick and Wired magazine.

The branded app can be used on iPhone, iPad and Android devices. When users point their device at different places on the vehicle, the app brings up an AR woman who explains more about the car. Users can also learn about the Buick’s features and visit the company’s mobile site to purchase the car. The app can also be used to learn about and purchase the collection of gifts in the pop-up store. Craig Bierley, director of advertising and promotions at Buick, said:

As WIRED Store’s presenting sponsor, Buick is excited to offer consumers an engaging way to learn about and shop for the hottest technologies of this holiday season, including the 2012 Buick LaCrosse. Thanks to Aurasma’s innovative interactive technology, WIRED Store visitors will be able to learn about LaCrosse and its fuel-saving eAssist system in a way that is both fun and informative.
