Design Creative Of The Week: Lenka Dobranska [Industrial, Product, Spatial]
In our nineteenth edition of ‘Creatives of the Week’ chosen from ARTS THREAD’s graduate portfolios, we take a look at the ten up-and-coming creatives from the realms of industrial, product and spacial design and highlight the portfolio of Lenka Dobranska.
Having graduated from Chelsea College of Art & Design’s Interior and Spatial Design MA course, Lenka creates interactive environments which react and alter depending on the user’s mood — opening up if the user wants to explore, or remaining closed if the user is disinterested.
Lenka says of her own work:
In response to our technology-dominated environment, as a designer/maker I aim to create conceptual and original objects and installations that are honest to their material and function yet simple enough to be understood by the user. I like to experiment with recycling and reconstructing existing objects.
Lenka explains:
I’m concerned with designing objects that influence mindsets and physically help us to improve our habits for the benefit of our environment and humanity. I’m intrigued and inspired by the characteristics of nature; especially by its use in the art-nouveau movement.
ARTS THREAD bridges the gap between education and the creative industry. For the first time ever, design students, graduates, universities, schools and the creative industry can network worldwide. Learn more about Arts Thread.
