The Sound Cover project by Petur Olafsson is seeking backing on Kickstarter.
Petur Olafsson has conceived and developed the Sound Cover for the iPad2, an ultra-thin and stylish leather case with built-in NXT flat panel speakers that can increase the device’s volume by 300%. Made by onanoff, an umbrella brand of Olafsson’s design and tech company Nordic Enterprises Ltd, the Sound Cover is currently seeking backers through crowdfunding site Kickstarter.
The case boasts a lightweight and modern design, a lithium-ion battery that can last up to 12 hours before charging, and an integrated aluminum speaker stand with bass boost function. The case connects to the iPad2 via 3.5mm jack, or there is a Bluetooth edition available for wireless audio connection. The Sound Cover allows full access to the iPad’s buttons and ports, automatically wakes up and puts the device to sleep, and lets you manage the volume using the iPad’s standard controls.
The project aims to reach $35,000 on Kickstarter and backers are offered a variety of rewards for their pledge. You can pre-order your own Sound Cover at the discounted price of $110 (the estimated retail value is $129). Check out the video below for more information:
