McDonald’s Crowdsources Short Films To Promote McBites

By Yi Chen on December 7, 2011

The fast food giant has recently announced a competition that invites consumers to come up with ideas for a McBites short film. McDonald’s will be offering a total of $35,000 in prizes where 10 winning concepts will be selected to be made into 30-second video clips.

Rick Wion, Director of Social Media for McDonald’s, hinted that one of the short films might even make it to TV. The competition will accept submissions until this week and the winning entries will be posted online in January 2012.

McBites are small chicken pieces that appeal to consumers who want to snack on the go. They come in a convenient packaging that fits in a car’s cup-holder and known in the industry as a ‘cupholder cuisine’.
