The popular beverage aligns its newest online campaign with Facebook’s latest layout feature.
Facebook upgrades often come with corresponding marketing programs from various brands who would like to maximize visibility across the social networking market. As Facebook rolls out its newest Timeline feature, popular beverage brand Mountain Dew launches a promotional campaign on its Facebook Page that encourages users to download customizable and free images for their own new Timeline profiles. Each image has been specifically sized for the Timeline cover photo format.
Developed in partnership with RFI Studios, Mountain Dew’s Facebook Timeline campaign is the latest in its series of online marketing campaigns, which includes crowdsourcing three new flavors that took place last year. Jenny Danzi, assistant brand manager for Mountain Dew, explains:
The effort came about because we’re always looking for ways to create new experiences for our fan base. The brand’s young-skewing demo was mostly aware of Timeline; I expected some backlash about people not knowing, but that never happened.
