NFL Officials Willing To Embrace High-Tech Gadgets
According to a Wall Street Journal report, NFL League officials are looking to integrate high-tech innovations into this traditional sport played in the U.S. Currently, some NFL teams have swapped their play books and game film for an iPad and we’ve already seen how social media plays a part in promotions. Nevertheless, the league still prohibits computer and other device use by players and coaches before and during games.
If this ban is lifted, we could see players embedded with computer chips to measure real-time stats, referees can view instant replays on hand-held screens, coaches can organize tactics on tablet computers and players can also communicate wirelessly without the need to huddle.
Brian Rolapp, the NFL’s Chief Operating Officer for media explained that, “It’s an intersection of how do we make the game better, the coach’s job easier, and the game a better experience for the fans.”
