Retailers Support App That Saves Shoppers Money By Tracking Prices And Sales
The free mobile shopping app Savvy helps shoppers save money by tracking price protection policies and price fluctuation. Users are notified when items go on sale so they can purchase them at a reduced price. If they’ve already bought the item, they are also notified, as most retailers will refund the difference.
The new app, which has already teamed up with retailers including IKEA, Staples and Victoria’s Secret, has a built-in scanner and manager that lets users take pictures of their receipts and be automatically alerted when an item’s price drops. They are also able to track the price of specific products they’d like to purchase. Users can scan the bar codes of in-store products and enter the price they’d be willing to pay, then they will receive a notification if the item goes on sale for that price. Vice President of Marketing at Savvy, Samantha Fein, said:
Savvy.com fills the need that consumers have to be able to ensure they receive the best price possible for items they have already purchased. During this holiday time, and in the midst of a recovery economy, Savvy.com helps consumers get the money back that is already theirs… Our vision for Savvy.com is to be the most valuable shopping app and Web site on the market.
