While many adopt the diet due to celiac disease, others, like tennis player Djokovic, have claimed that leaving the wheat protein out provides much higher energy levels.

The popularity of gluten-free diets has led major food brands like Amy’s and even General Mills to come out with gluten-free alternatives. More and more, food companies have taken notice to those with the allergy, and the fact that it has attracted even those without celiac disease. The New York Times.
