Sports Illustrated Lets Fans Choose Its Cover Via Facebook

Sports Illustrated is letting its readers select the cover for the magazine’s year-end issue, which will be hitting newsstands on December 21st. Fans are invited to visit its Facebook page and rank their top five sports moments of 2011 in order of preference.

There are 15 nominations to choose from, including Aaron Rodgers throwing three touchdowns to lead Green Bay to victory in Super Bowl XLV, Lionel Messi and Barcelona overwhelming Manchester United to win the Champions League title, Rory McIlroy bouncing back after his Masters meltdown to win the U.S. Open, Derek Jeter becoming the first Yankee to reach 3,000 hits, Novac Djokovic defeating Roger Federer in the U.S. Open semis on the way to the title, and Kelly Slater securing his record 11th world surfing title.

The moment that receives the most votes by December 16th will appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated‘s year-end double issue.
