Apple To Build Completely Transparent Store In France
As the Apple NYC flagship store’s redesign winds down, the company is aiming to launch many other redesign projects to make the stores sleeker, simpler and less complicated. Apple has recently announced plans to apply this “simple elegance” concept to France’s Aix en Provence store. Gary Allen reports for ifoAppleStore:
One of the most unusual and amazing architectural designs for an Apple store will reportedly appear in Aix en Provence (France), featuring a nearly all-glass structure enabled by new technology developed by Apple’s glass suppliers.
The anticipated store is to be located on the south side of Place du General de Gaulle, where a tourism office currently stands. AixEnProvence.fr magazine has posted a rendering showing a one-level structure set back on a broad stone plaza, with a tan-colored rear wall, and all other encompassing walls made of glass. Apple is expected to open up the new store location by the end of this year, or perhaps in early 2013.
