A Shaded View on Fashion Film will now be accepting and judging submissions that were shot using smartphones.
The international festival ‘A Shaded View on Fashion Film’ (ASVOFF) has added a new competition category this year for the best fashion films produced entirely on mobile phones.
ASVOFF, which launched in 2008, encourages emerging and established artists to reconsider the way fashion is presented. Debuting in Paris during fashion week, it then tours the world with screenings, conferences, performances and installations in cities such as New York, London, Tokyo, Milan and this month, Barcelona.
The international jury for the innovative mobile fashion film competition will award its 1st prize to the best short film produced on a mobile phone and another prize will be voted for by the public on the festival’s website. These one-minute films will be hosted online for viewing and public voting. In conjunction with this mobile competition, Lorea Iglesias, the coordinator of the Barcelona MovilFilmFest, will be presenting a selection of the best short mobile fashion films to be screened during the festival.
We have seen feature films shot with a mobile phone this past year, and now to have an official category for them at a festival point to this genre beginning to enter the mainstream.
