KLM Uses Twitter To Get Flyers The Cheapest Fare

KLM Uses Twitter To Get Flyers The Cheapest Fare

Dutch airline turns to the popular social networking platform to advertise its latest deals and help customers price check flights.

Sam McNerney

Companies are using Twitter in myriad ways. A few years ago Best Buy began encouraging people to tweet for customer service; and FedEx, DHL and UPS customers can even track their packages on Twitter. Now Dutch airline KLM is getting involved. Customers can tweet flight requests to @KLMfares (plus the destination and dates) to find the lowest fares. After you send them your tweet, KLM will reply with a link to the latest deals. In a recent article from The Next Web Aaron Lee put the service to the test and found excellent results — he got a reply in one minute. Is this the future of price checking?
