Mercedes-Benz Bids A Final Farewell To The Airbag [Video]

This new TV commercial for the Mercedes-Benz B-Class is a richly visual “thank you” message to the airbag, a device that will have less to do in future cars because of the development of the automaker’s Collision Prevention Assist feature, which the B-Class comes with as standard.

“Thanks, Airbag” was developed by Jung von Matt/Alster as an ode to the safety feature that has been making driving safer and saving lives for 30 years. Mercedes-Benz state that the new assistance and braking systems on the 2012 B-Class will help to reduce the risk of rear-end collisions. This commercial is a clever way to display what the new feature is replacing and enhancing. You can watch the new TV spot below:
