Mexico Creates Its Own Instagram To Launch Country-Wide Photo Contest
In mid-January, the first Mextagram gathering was held in the National Art Museum (MUNAL), with the aim of bringing together as many followers as possible from the Instagram community. Mextagram is a social app that functions as a platform for Instagram users in Mexico. This was the first time the Mexican Instagram community came together for an event, which included activities and a talk by Pepe Montalvo, the Vice President of Creative at Ogilvy in Mexico, who spoke about the importance of developing creative ideas.
A photography competition was also staged in real time under the hasthag #mextagram_munal. 6 teams were formed and had roughly 3 hours to get the best photos from within the museum. Participants were invited to publish photos from the following challenges: #munal_sentimientos(feelings), #munal_bestias(beasts) and #munal_miradas(glances). These challenges will end January 29th and Mextagramers are urged to visit the museum and participate in the contest.
