High-fashion designer Narcisco Rodriguez will create an exclusive line for online retail store Rent the Runway. Rent the Runway leases out designer gowns and accessories to its customers for up to 90% off the retail price. The New York startup is highly popular among female shoppers who are looking for a hassle-free way to rent head-turning outfits for weddings, formals, parties and dates.

Rodriguez’s gowns have adorned celebrities on the red carpet. Four unique dresses inspired by his previous designs, will be created by Rodriguez to launch the Rent the Runway ‘capsule’ project. The project hopes to attract other designers who are looking for new platforms and avenues to engage with their consumers. The exclusive collection also means that the fashion-conscious consumer can wear a one-of-a-kind dress to a special occasion.

A dress that would usually retail for $3,500 from the Rodriguez capsule range, can be rented from $400 for four days.
