Is Getting Kicked In The Crotch Better Than Getting Swindled? One Company Says Yes
For their recent ad campaign, Glyde chose a brave way to spread the message that its competitor isn’t treating consumers fairly. The online marketplace offers people a place to buy and sell used games, DVDs, books and electronic devices. Their commercial features a man who thinks getting kicked in the crotch is less painful than selling his used games at Gamestop.
A number of people line up at a county fair booth to give him a kick and let him show the world how much getting ripped off hurts. After being kicked, he yells to the crowd: “Better than Gamestop.” The Gamestop Protest campaign for Glyde was developed by San Francisco-based agency Hub Strategy and the TV commercial can be viewed below:
