In an effort to combat counterfeiting designer goods, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and eBay have teamed up once again and launched a line of designer bags that celebrates original design. The “You Can’t Fake Fashion” campaign will feature totes created by 75 iconic American designers, including Diane Von FurstenbergRalph Lauren, and Calvin Klein. This bold, new campaign to raise awareness against counterfeit goods was extremely successful last year, as the entire collection sold out almost immediately after launch and was spotted on the arms of famous celebrities including Katherine McPhee and Kristin Cavallari.

Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA said of the renewed partnership:

The CFDA works to protect designers’ intellectual property, and fighting counterfeits is a critical issue to CFDA, eBay and the fashion industry at large. We continue to collaborate with eBay on this bold campaign to educate shoppers on the dangers of counterfeits, raise awareness of our mutual dedication to the fight against fakes and emphasize the importance of original design.

The new line will be available starting March 20th exclusively through eBay, which a reasonable price tag of US$45 for the four standard styles and a more exclusive, designer-customized bag for $200.
